Plans to Develop the Galilee into a Global Center for Medicinal Food

The project focusing on the said initiative, the food industry and modern agriculture

the “national initiative” organization together with mk erel margalit and 17 regional mayors have launched a plan to turn the galilee into global center for the development of medicinal food.
a number of main events held throughout the region included the presentation of scholarships to students of food and nutrition subjects from the tel hai academic college, a meeting to introduce the farmers of metulla to the project and a successful highlight event for young people from the galilee panhandle that was attended by about 150 interested participants.

the project focusing on the said initiative, the food industry and modern agriculture aims to overcome the current crisis in agriculture. this genuine “ecosystem” in the galilee enables it to become a global center in the fields of food, agriculture and innovation.
the tel hai academic college and its migal institute serve as the mainstay for this regional transformation.

the college’s planned institute in the field of food and related innovations will be the first of its kind in israel and will be established in cooperation with the rutgers university from new jersey, usa.

scholarships and certificates of excellence for the students at the danziger high school

the presentation of 15 scholarships by the “national initiative” to students and researchers studying food issues at the tel hai academic college was attended by the college’s senior faculty and officials, students from the college and danziger high school as well as noted personalities from the galilee.

certificates of excellence were also presented to students studying biotechnology at the danziger high school for their exceptional achievements in becoming the first israeli high school to participate in the highly acclaimed competition for scientific developments at the mit university in boston.

speakers at the ceremony included rabbi nissim malka, the mayor of kiryat shmona, who noted the achievements of the city’s younger generation and mk erel margalit who believes that the initiative is one way to overcome the current crisis in agriculture and offers a real opportunity for regeneration in the galilee.

this special day was rounded off with this event organized by the “changing direction” movement at the “anshoo pub” in kiryat shmona, at which mk erel margalit presented the medicinal food initiative for a global center in the galilee.
