Israeli Citrus Fruit Center Opened in India

A center of excellence for citrus fruits opened by Israel in Punjab

a center of excellence for citrus fruits was inaugurated on thursday in punjab in collaboration with israel. israel’s ambassador daniel carmon and chief minister parkash singh badal inaugurated the center in hoshiarpur district. it is the second israel-india center of excellence being established in punjab. earlier this year, a center of excellence for vegetables was inaugurated at kartarpur near jalandhar. a spokesman of the israel embassy said “the centre will serve as a focal point for india-israeli agriculture r&d, and will showcase some of the most advanced israeli nursery and fruit cultivating technologies, adapted for indian conditions by local experts”. 28 centers of excellence are being set up in ten states across india under the three-year work plan for india-israel agricultural cooperation.
