Shaping the Future of Herbs: Hishtil Prepares to Showcase Breakthroughs at IPM Essen 2026

Interview with Haim Rosenblum, Hishtil’s Marketing & Sales Division Manager

As IPM Essen 2026 approaches (January 27-30, Hall 2.0, Stand 2B15), Hishtil is preparing to present innovations that reflect its leadership in vegetative herb plants, premium culinary herbs propagated from cuttings, alongside grafted vegetables, with a clear commitment: Working with Nature.

“Our IPM showcase is built around real-world challenges,” says Haim, “We’re introducing concepts that support growers navigating market pressure, climate extremes, and evolving consumer expectations.”

Four Innovative Concepts

At the heart of Hishtil’s IPM presence are four product lines developed for both hobby and professional markets:

X-Hishtil : High-resistance herb varieties engineered to thrive where conventional plants struggle. “We call them superhero herbs for a reason,” says Rosenblum. “X-Hishtil gives growers plants that actually perform under stress.”

Double MarvelTM : Dual-purpose plants combining ornamental beauty with culinary use. Activate your senses with eye-catching blossoms, special foliage, and flavor in one plant.

DurabelloTM : Climate-resilient plants built to face water scarcity and temperature extremes. “Climate change isn’t a future problem, it’s here now,” notes Rosenblum. “DurabelloTM addresses that vulnerability directly.”

GrowFlowTM : Trailing, aromatic herbs perfect for hanging baskets, rockeries, island beds, and straight from garden to kitchen. These varieties flow and spread while releasing pleasant aromas.

Thymus citriodorus Cascading Lemonade, Mentha arvensis Banana, Jiaogulan, Lippia dulcis, Persicaria odorata, Satureja douglasii Indian Mint, Rosmarinus officinalis Haifa, Thymus herba-barona Cascata

“Every single concept came from direct feedback from growers and retailers facing real problems,” Rosenblum emphasizes.

Working with Nature

Hishtil’s sustainability commitment is measurable: sub-irrigation systems save 60% of water while reducing pesticide application by 50%. The company has also transitioned to a fully digital catalog, accessible via QR code at the IPM booth.
